The client
Hops is “a platform for users to find great deals & events from local bars & eateries.” It gives Auckland’s restaurants, bars and clubs a place to showcase their best offers, events and deals, and gives people an easy way to find and compare them. The app is available on Android through Google Play.
The challenge
Auckland’s hospitality scene changes every week, and great deals and events are easy to miss. Hops needed to be useful on both sides: quick and simple for people deciding where to go tonight, and easy for busy venue owners to keep their information current.
What we built
- An Android app where people browse deals and events from participating venues across Auckland.
- Search filters by location, type of deal and price, so people can find exactly what they want.
- A map page showing every participating venue nearby, alongside a list of all the restaurants, bars and clubs in the Hops community.
- Venue tools that let venues edit their opening hours, contact details and current deals or events in real time.
The outcome
Hops is live on Google Play, helping Aucklanders discover new and hidden-away venues and plan their outings with up-to-date information, while giving venues a direct way to share their best offers.
